SFI offers rooms and apartments in 19 residential units. They are all close to SFE or around the city center of Essen, a maximum of ten minutes' walk from the nearest bus stop.
The SFI residential units offer a uniform standard in terms of furniture and equipment - bed, desk, bookshelf, chair and wardrobe as well as WiFi are available in all private rooms. Most of them are inhabited by 2-4 people, with the common rooms such as kitchen and bathroom being shared. These are equipped with all the necessary components such as a hob, refrigerator, oven, dishwasher * and microwave * (not in all units). All residents of the SFI units are participants of the SFE with different nationalities and genders (same-sex housing units are also organized by the SFI. A small number of individual apartments in which the bedroom, kitchen and bathroom are used by only one person are also available to disposal.
SFI tries to offer all SFE participants suitable living space. If this is not the case, waiting lists will be kept or you can use the recommendation service to find a place to live outside the SFI.
